HIM 1444 Pathopharmacology
In this course, students explore the nature, cause, and treatment of human diseases including a basic knowledge of the body's defense mechanism. Students will also study general pharmacological concepts and principles, drug mechanisms of action, therapeutic drugs and indications, contraindications associated with drug therapy and medications related to body systems, common signs, symptoms, and side effects. Students will study the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), drug schedules, common medications, adverse effects, and relevant laws. There is a focus on the relationship between pathophysiology, pharmacology and medical coding.
