President’s Letter

Welcome to Indian River State College!

As the region’s comprehensive higher education provider, state-designated career and technical center, and nexus of cultural and community activity, Indian River State College is pleased to welcome more than 30,000 students to our institution annually. We take great pride in working to "positively impact lives by making possibilities a reality" for every single student we serve. Over the course of the 2016-2017 academic year, the spirit of that mission - student success - will be more evident than ever before. 

We want to do everything within our ability to help you, as an IRSC student, succeed and achieve the goals you've set forth.  For this reason, we've joined the Achieving the Dream™ network which will help us use research and data to enhance your experience here, in and out of the classroom.  Opportunities for our students are everywhere, and I'm confident you will have the guidance and resources to make the most of them.

As one of Florida’s state colleges, IRSC offers Bachelor’s Degree programs, enabling you to earn a four-year degree close to where you live and work. Maintaining our open-door policy, IRSC continues to offer the Associate in Arts Degree to prepare students for university transfer and the Associate in Science Degree, Associate in Applied Science Degree and certification programs for careers in the nation’s fastest growing professions. You can also get started by working toward your GED^® or by attending our Adult High School. Whatever program you choose, our faculty and staff stand ready to make your educational dreams come true.

Through a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore and grow, you will reach goals you might not otherwise thought possible. And, with more than 150 programs to choose from, you will find the education and career path that is right for you. In addition, the College’s emphasis on innovation and technology enables us to bring learning experiences to you in the time and manner most convenient to your needs.

The programs and policies described in this catalog have been carefully developed with one purpose in mind: to enable you to achieve your greatest potential and to establish a firm foundation for your academic and career pursuits. Please don’t hesitate to explore and utilize the many student services available to you in our Enrollment & Student Services Division. These devoted professionals are here for you, eager to answer any questions you might have and assist you in any way possible.
